Good for packages, app could improve

I booked a 'pacotes de viagem' to Cancun through Decolar a few weeks ago. The price was competitive, especially with the hotel and flight bundled together. The booking process on the website was straightforward enough, and I received my confirmation emails quickly. Our hotel was exactly as described, and the flights went smoothly. My only minor issue was with the mobile app; it's a bit clunky sometimes, and I had trouble accessing my voucher offline. It eventually worked, but it took some fiddling. Overall, a solid experience, but they could polish the app interface a bit more for easier access to documents.

Reliable as always for hotels

This was my third time using Decolar, this time for a 'hotéis' booking in Salvador. I've always found them consistent. Their prices are usually good, and the booking system is familiar to me now. My previous two bookings, a 'pacotes para o Nordeste' and a car rental, also went off without a hitch. I keep coming back because I know what to expect, and they deliver. The hotel description was accurate, and check-in was easy. It's a dependable service for my travel needs.

Easy flight booking

I bought 'passagens aéreas' for a domestic trip. It was quick and simple. The price was good, and I got the tickets emailed right away. No issues.

Is Decolar good for finding deals on international flights, especially to Europe? Or am I better off with Kayak or something?

T Todd 2 months ago

Decolar can be decent, especially around Black Friday or 'Semana do Consumidor'. I found a good package to Lisbon once. But yeah, always cross-reference with Kayak or Expedia, you never know.

M Mike Brooks 2 months ago

For just flights, I usually check a few sites. Decolar's packages are where they often shine, especially if you're bundling flight + hotel. For just a flight, sometimes others are cheaper.

Hey, thinking of booking a package to Disney through Decolar. How reliable is their customer service if something goes wrong? Seen some mixed reviews.

T Troy D. 2 months ago

Yeah, I had to change a flight date once and it was kinda slow. Took a few calls but eventually got it sorted. Prepare for a wait sometimes.

My experience was fine. Had a hotel issue, used the chat feature in the app and they were actually pretty quick. Maybe depends on the problem?

Anyone know if Decolar offers a first-time purchase discount for new users? Planning a big trip to the Nordeste and every bit helps.

G Gwen 2 months ago

I think they usually have app-exclusive deals for first-timers, worth checking the app after you download it. I got like 10% off a hotel booking once.

Hmm, I didn't get one when I signed up last year. Maybe it depends on the time of year or what you're buying. Keep an eye out for those flash sales though, sometimes they're better.

Are the prices on Decolar for car rentals competitive? Or should I just go directly to a rental company's website?

D Derek Z. 3 months ago

I've found Decolar's car rental prices to be pretty good, especially if it's part of a package. Always compare though, sometimes direct is better for just a car.

C Chris 3 months ago

Sometimes they have exclusive deals with certain companies, so it's worth checking. Plus, booking it all together can be convenient. I usually check both ways.

What's the deal with coupons on Decolar? Do they actually work for flights or only packages? And where do you even put the code?

J June Torres 2 months ago

Most of the time I see coupons, they're for packages, or sometimes specific hotels/car rentals. They pop up at the final payment screen.

R Ryan 2 months ago

Yeah, usually it's at checkout right before you pay. And a lot of the good ones are for the app only, or specific payment methods like Pix. Just keep an eye on the terms.
